unexpected response
One day I received a call from my son’s school nurse. She told me that on examination of his medical records it had become apparent that he needed his polio booster immunization shot. She told me this was a requirement that needed attention immediately. I made an appointment at the clinic, and after school I picked up my 6-year-old son and told him we had to go to the clinic for an immunization shot. As we were driving to the clinic, he appeared worried and I could see tears in his eyes. He kept asking about the needle - how big it was, etc. I told him it would be over quickly and I was not sure, but I thought that the polio immunization was given orally - - - - - He was quiet for a while and then asked, "What questions are they going to ask me- - -will they be hard?"
