Childhood Pleasures
Childhood pleasures –memories linger -
How they filled our lives with joy!
Not a heavy heart among us -
Not a burden to annoy.
Sometimes little shadows floated
O’er a face and hid the smile
But they vanished in a moment
Leaving everything worthwhile.
Happy times and carefree hours -
Light in heart – from trouble free -
Oh that now our cares might vanish
And we could as children be!
Not a worry - not a burden -
Trusting all as Heaven-Sent -
Glad in heart for simple pleasures -
Joyful, Thankful, and Content!!
