Use Tupperware containers and labels to store toys, colors, paper, actions figures, etc. These will fit on closet shelves, under beds, etc.

Use magazine holders for storing magazines. Stacking file racks are perfect.

Photo boxes, sold at craft stores, are perfect for organizing photos you don’t have time to put in albums AND for storing candles, cards, dice, office supplies, etc.

Prepare for future events! Buy greeting cards a few months to a year in advance. Store them in an accordian file labeled with the months of the year. Buy a few standard extra cards for unanticipated needs.

It can be frustrating storing odd shaped objects, keep a long plastic container (fits under the bed) for wrapping paper and supplies. A tall narrow one to fit in the corner of a closet works well too.

Organize meals a week or 2 at a time. See this websites menu planner.
