Welcome to housework hints!

Organization

How to fit cleaning in:

1.Plan ahead and don’t insist on doing it all in one day: That will overwhelm you and set you up to fail. Choose a chore per day and do only that chore. By the end of the week all the cleaning will have been done and you will never have had a moment of stress about it!

2.Solicit help from the rest of your family. If the kids all want to go to the park suggest that once the “One Chore of the Day” is done, then you can all go have fun and “Would you like to help Mommy get it done faster?”

3.Write all the chores you want done in the week down on 3x5 cards and organize them into days of the week (if you have 14 chores to do, put 2 chores per day). If you want to get fancy, you can color code them: Monday is red, Tuesday is purple, etc. Write any specific instructions on the cards that you feel are essential for the job to be done well and then let the rest of the family pick the chore they want for that day of the week.
