attitude is everything
Your attitude can shape your day, for good or for ill. Becoming aware of this fact and deciding ahead of time what you want your attitude to be can change your life. You really do have control over your own attitude. It is your decision whether to let that grouchy, unhelpful sales person ruin your day. Stay calm, polite and pleasant and let them know you hope their day improves. Talk to yourself each morning. Something like, “Hello day, I’m going to be cheerful and pleasant today no matter what happens”. During the day, when things seem to be going wrong, take a short break. Lie down and put your feet up for 10 minutes. Take several slow deep breaths and remind yourself that you can be in a good mood even if everyone else is cranky. If your kids are involved, have them to take a 10-minute quiet time as well. Consider the problem you are facing and how best to handle it. Then resume your day. It takes practice to make this happen, but keep trying. You’ll be surprised how your days will improve.
