Aerobic Activity Basics
You have lots of aerobic activity choices today. Most of them are what we like to call “play.” If you can turn your aerobic activity into a playful time, you’ll stick with it.
To benefit aerobically we need to accumulate 30 minutes of moderate activity at least 3 days a week. Then, if you just follow some of the Finding Time for Fitness: Part 1 hints to squeeze activity into your everyday schedule, before you know it, you’ll be exercising every day! YaHOOO!Look at all these possibilities:
Walk 1: Make a regular date with a special friend for a walk around the block.
Walk 2: Give you best friend some quality time.
Jog: Some people might not think of this as play. But, others love it.
Bicycling: Remember how much fun it was to hop on your bike and just meander around. Well, it still is.
Hiking: A great activity for the whole family. Maybe you can’t do it 3 times a week. But, you can include it in your week.
Rowing: If you live near the water, give yourself the treat of row, row, rowing your boat. It’s great exercise; and so refreshing.
Skating: Lots of folks are having as much fun in-line skating today as they did riding bikes as a kid. Check it out.
Dancing: Don’t forget DANCING! Get a group of friends together and book a night or two for aerobic dancing at your favorite club.
Choose two or three of these activities and rotate them into your week. You’ll have fun and get fit to boot.
